Muchachos Locos
when my brother Jack and i were just kids ( before our teens ) we used to walk home sometimes by this junk yard owned by this man named Henry Hocksrott ( real name not made up ) and there was this big water tower just down the street about 2 stories high. it had a loft at the top and in that loft was a bunch of pigeons. i guess you heard about our pigeons from your mom. anyway we wanted to go up there and get them but we knew that the only way was to go at night, when the pigeons were asleep. they don't like flying at night. we also knew there would be some babies that we could get and take home and raise for ourselves, (we were into pigeons big time ) so one day we waited until late at night and snuck out of the house. ( if mom knew, it would've been curtains for us ) we get to the tower without the owner catching us and we walk inside the door and there is a bunch of machinery on the floor with a small clearing where the ladder is. The ladder goes straight up the wall to the loft up above so we start climbing. when we get inside the loft it's real dark and we start feeling around up there and we find some baby pigeons and some big ones, we unbutton our shirts and put as many as we can in our shirts and start climbing down the ladder, me first. I'm about half way down and i hear Jack say watch out and something goes whoosh right by me. and i'm thinking what the heck was that, well it was Jack, he fell all the way down to the bottom, pigeons and all. I was expecting the worst because of all that machinery down there. Now i know the good lord was watching over us, because Jack didn't get hurt and he didn't even lose a pigeon. He fell right next to the machinery. missed it by inches. He told me later when he started to fall he pushed himself away from the ladder because he knew i was right under him. If he would of landed on me he would have taken me down with him and we both would have gotten hurt pretty bad. well he dusted himself off, we secured our pigeons and left. we laughed all the way home, put our pigeons away and went to bed. We went back a few more times and cleaned all the pigeons out of there. never got caught and never got hurt. ( thank you lord )

How high up were you guys when Jack fell? Man, like you said, the Lord had a guiding hand. If you're mom would have caught you guys, what would she have done?
ReplyDeleteok, so THAT explains Jack.. hahhahhahaaa
ReplyDeleteand Joe's right...HEAVEN wasn't ready for either one of you so Jack was cradled in the Lord's hands when he landed. But I bet it hurt anyway.. teehee :)
ReplyDeleteJack must have fallen a good 8 to 10 feet. there was a cement floor but it was covered with dirt and other stuff so he did have a cushion.as far as Mom goes,if she would have caught us and known what we did. I don't think the chankla would have been good enough. We would of had to deal with Pop and all my brothers and sisters will tell you it's better to get the chankla.
